A Day at the Golf Course

Nathaniel loves to go to daddy's work and hang out at the golf club. So much so, I think I might have the next Tiger on my hands!! Last weekend we visited for the day and Nate had a blast. He especially loved walking around the course and riding with daddy on the golf cart.

This month has been so hectic in our household. It actually feels more like the pace of September and not those relaxing days you expect from August. I have been traveling and Daddy has been taking care of Nathaniel A LOT! I had to spend my first few nights in a row away from Nate and it was really hard. By the 3rd day, I was missing him terribly. When they picked me up at the airport last night, he had just woken up; he smiled and gave me a big hug- it was so cute. Nathaniel is not only walking now he is running! He has started to eat with a fork and spoon somewhat and he has moved on to big boy cups now. His two front teeth have come through and they now show when he smiles. He is a growing boy and it is all happening way too fast for me. I love this age...and while I always await the excitement of the next adventure...I am hoping this age will last a little longer. I am truly in awe watching his little personality develop. He is such a happy little boy!

July 26th, 2008

Nathaniel's baptism was perfect- it was exactly as we had wanted it to be- small, relaxed and informal. It was in the chapel of the Congregational Church in Vermont with Pastor Berry. He gave a great blessing to Nathan and to all of us there. Unfortunately, Nathan had a cold that day and was not feeling 100%. He was a real trooper though and hung in for the entire ceremony. I loved the part when the pastor blessed him with the holy water. . . all he wanted to do was put his hands in it and splash! I think he would have tried to swim in it if he could have. :-)

We followed the baptism with a great celebratory breakfast with the whole family at our favorite breakfast place- the Little Rooster Cafe. Then it was off to Saratoga for a day of horse racing. Nate LOVED the horses. He got so excited watching them run with his dad he could not stop jumping up and down. And of course, his highlight of the day was the Dippin' Dots!

A day at Emerald Lake

I realized I forgot to take my camera when we walked down to the beach! Anyway, we had a great day at our annual visit to Emerald lake. Nate and Kate loved to play in the sand and both were so exhausted when they were done playing- they took long naps! The water was pretty cold there as it had just rained for days. The kids played in the sand and waded in the water all day....

*French Creek Camping Trip*

Our first camping trip together was great! We had a perfect site nestled among 7000+ acres in the middle of the PA forest. We had fun hanging out, grilling dinner over the campfire, and just relaxing....then the rumbles and flashes of light set in and we were in for one big storm.

We saw an entire family of turkeys walk right by us and enjoyed the peaceful setting. We hope to go for several days next summer and get to enjoy the nearby lake.

Just hangin' in my ride...

Oh, excuse me mom, did you need something....can't you see I'm relaxing?!

Do we get cell coverage out here??

The finest little froggy pool in town!

Here's our pool...it may be small, filled with hose water, and green as a frog....but we love it! Nate is a natural born swimmer and he is literally obsessed with swimming. Tonight, he actually dove into the tub-- thankfully, there was no water in it yet and he didn't cry- so it must not have hurt that bad. His favorite summer activity by far is swimming and splashing.

I have so much to update on and I will be posting more pics very soon. Nate had his first camping trip a couple weeks ago, we went on a mini-vacation to the lake in VT, and Nate's baptism was last weekend. Lots to share very soon....
