Happy Thanksgiving!!

We have so much to be grateful for! We had such a wonderful Thanksgiving day with Nanny and Bud, who came to visit us for the week. Nate loved the turkey dinner...especially his turkey and his cranberry! He's not a stuffing lover. We really enjoyed a nice relaxing family day. I am so thankful for our family, health, and happiness!

A leftover from Halloween...

This is one of my favorite pictures from Halloween! My litte roo...

Let's see...what has been new with us. On Friday, Nate had his first parent volunteer day at school. I was there and my job was to read stories to the 9 little kids in his classroom. Nathaniel was SO proud that mommy came to read to he and all his friends. I brought "The Hungry Caterpillar" and an Elmo sing along book. The Elmo book was a hit! I am guessing because it made noise!

I am very proud of Nate for doing so well at his school. He has been enrolled 4 days per week since April and he has not had one issue. He eats well, naps well, and gets along beautifully with the other kids. He now proudly carries his Thomas lunchbox in every morning...it's adorable. What I like most about school is that he gets social interaction and skills that I could never give him. Miss Wendy and Miss Megan are the best teachers and I feel very comfortable with Nate in their care each day. Next month is Christmas cookie decorating and I will be sure to get pics of that great event.

We are looking forward to Thanksgiving at home this year! It's hard to believe that last year we spent Thanksgiving day at the Marriot in Guatemala City. While I have great memories of that visit and the precious time we had together, I am so THANKFUL this year's memories will be made right here at home. :-)

November 2008 Pics

Can't believe it's that time already! Last weekend we went for our Christmas pics. They came out awesome- he is a little cutie patootie! I really like this one above. They captured his smile and happiness really well. I am amazed at how much he is growing lately. We are in the middle of a language spurt. He is picking up words like a sponge and now easily says 2 words together-- one of his favorites, "hot dog". Yesterday was pajama day at school. All the kids got to wear their PJ's and had breakfast for lunch. I could tell he had a fun day. To top off the week, we went to Friendly's for dinner and had ice cream sundae's.

Happy Halloween 2008!

Our LITTLE KangaROO!

Right before our 1st 'trick or treat'!

"Mom, let's go get candy!!

Love the tail...

And...our 1st school parade! He loved it.

Mom and 'Kangy'

Dad and Kangy (and don't forget little Joey too!!)

We went out with the neighbors on Friday night and hit about 25 houses. Nate loved it! At first he was a little apprehensive about reaching in for candy...but once he got the trick- he tried to go back for seconds and thirds (especially for his favorite- lollipops!). I honestly think I burned off several pounds walking all night...of course, only to gain it right back with Reese's and Snickers! We loved our Kangy costume and Nate really liked to pet his Joey. Between school and trick or treating, he filled his pumpkin full of goodies which is sure to last a few weeks. :-)

Halloween Extravaganza Mini Vacation

Last week Nate and I packed up and headed on a mini-vaca up to New Hampshire and Boston. We spent 2 days with Nanny and Bud where we relaxed, shopped, went to the spa with Auntie Mo-Mo, and dressed up for Halloween! After that, we headed up to Salem, where they have one of the biggest (and scariest!) Halloween festivals in the US! We had so much fun. Nate was too young for any of the events but he absolutely loved watching all the kids and adults dressed up. He got to dance a song or two to Monster Mash and ate ice cream and fried dough. On Sunday, Kate was baptised and we had a wonderful little celebration. Nate and Kate are the bestest of friends and love to "tiss" (i.e. KISS!) one another. We had such a fun time! Of course, we could have done without the 14 hour round-trip drive. Friendly's does come in handy as a frequent ice cream stop! ;-) We also got to spend time with Aunie Mo-Mo and Uncle Alan....who just got engaged!! Congrats guys.

Here are the pics in no particular order....
