On Monday, we lost our sweet Potter Christian. We think he was around 17 years old. He died peacefully in the middle of the night. When we found him as a stray cat 5 years ago, he was emaciated and somewhat fearful of humans. After we were able to catch him (Mother's day of 2004) he bonded to us instantly (and fattened quite nicely, too). Potter had FIV and had battled with colds and sores for most of his years. He overcame great odds by living without sickness for as long as he did. Recently, he had become very thin and was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism. Although he wasn't suffering, life was just taking its course for him and he was nearing the end. He was a gentle soul that has touched our lives in ways we could never describe. He helped me to be a better, more patient person...as all the animals in my life have done. I am so eternally grateful to the powers that be for bringing Potter into my life. We will never forget his sweet presence.
